The Story

Third Time Was the Charm

Some giveaways end with a quiet email and a press release. Ours ended with a Cessna touching down at 0AZ2 in the morning—and the call coming in just a few hours later.

The Permission to Land Giveaway ran from February to June of 2026. More than four hundred pilots from across the country registered, and dozens of them flew their aircraft into Western Sky Airpark to stand under our banner with a thumbs up and a story to tell.

When the drawing was conducted on June 23, 2026, the first name pulled couldn't be verified. The second came back ineligible. And then a third name appeared.

"Hayden Bradley departed from Glendale that morning. By the time we conducted the drawing and worked through verification, he had already landed at Western Sky, taken his photo, and was on his way home. Just a few hours later, he picked up the phone." — Bill McDowell, Western Sky Airpark Development

Hayden didn't fly in chasing a guarantee. He flew in because that's what the giveaway asked of pilots—skin in the game, an aircraft on the ramp, a real moment under the banner. The kind of effort that separates a giveaway from a sweepstakes box you check at the grocery store.

That commitment is exactly what Western Sky Airpark is built around: pilots who would rather fly than scroll, residents who would rather live on a runway than next to one, a community where the airplane is part of the household.

Hayden is exactly the kind of pilot we built this for.

The Day It Happened

Hayden flew his Cessna N50818 from Glendale Municipal Airport (KGEU) to Western Sky Airpark (0AZ2), parked in front of the banner, took the photo, and headed back home. Just another fly-in—until the phone rang.
